Medium: Networked/Mapping/ Public Art Project Description: A network of sensors embedded in the Great Park communicate with Satellite Parks to collect human activity patterns. These patterns are traced via communication between Great Park Sensor Network and Satellite Parks and are uploaded to a public server to be viewed. The activity is accumulated during seismic activity. The data is aggregated and formatted as a drawing via custom software. A gallery of drawings accumulate over time which reveal patterns of activity in the park. Seism-a-sketch reveals a comparison between planned park usage and subversion of intended use providing useful data to urban planners. A color scheme reveals this discrepancy. |
