Radio Instabile is a migratory radio transmission based in a treehouse at Pollinaria in Abruzzo, Italy. R.I. squats on radio frequencies when called upon. RI collects and broadcasts voices from remote and rural localities. A growing archive of displaced voices come together at various moments and locations. For example, at the MAXXI in Rome, RI will assemble as a temporary pirate radio station inside the museum whereby it will partner with a local radio geek and ham radio expert to locate a free A.M. frequency in which to broadcast. The pirate radio broadcasting will be also simulcast via streaming on the website of Radio Papesse, a web radio focused on contemporary art and sound based in Villa Romana, Florence.
